KUUJJUAQ FISHING DERBY WEEKEND APRIL 7-9, 2017
To help celebrate longer days, AVATAA OUTDOOR SPORTS HAS A 1 DAY ONLY PROMOTION, APRIL 7. We are offering 10% discount on all ice augers.
The local Kuujjuaq Pinnguatitsijingiit Committee (Recreation Committee) is hosting a Fishing Derby and they will be offering cash prizes for the biggest lake trout. There are some guidelines that need to be followed. For Example:
Fishing Derby is from April 7 to 9 ending 5PM. To enter this fishing contest you will need to pay $25 entry fee, if there are more than 5 people in the same house entering the fee will be $100. Participants must travel on land (not allowed to charter a plane). Weighing will start on Sunday, April 9 at 5PM.
Prizes, Heaviest to Lightest:
1st: $5,000
2nd: $2,500
3rd: $2,000
4th: $1,000
5th: $500
6th: $400
7th: $300
8th: $200
9th: $100
The lightest fish also wins a prize of 45 gallons of gasoline.
